From Wednesday 28th until next 1st of July 2017, you have a great shopping opportunity named Chic Garage. Their motto is "second hand in good hands”. It takes place every two months in Madrid with a great selection from the best brands; Prada, Miu Miu, Isabel Marant or Des Petits Hauts.
I am from Madrid, love the city and want to share my special addresses. Every day a new idea, place or thing to do in Madrid. Everything has been thoroughly tested but it is only a personal opinion.

Bisutería Otero, a Piece of Madrid that Vanishes

Walking around Calle Mayor you get, nowadays, a sad feeling. Many shops are closing because of the expiry of the old law which allowed them to have a low rent. Most of those venues are traditional and popular businesses. One of them is Bisutería Otero. It was opened in 1905 and will definitely close at the end of March.

Il Tavolo Verde, Organic Café and Antique Market
Big glass windows, lovely antic furniture, organic food and a pleasant atmosphere close to the Retiro: I am talking about Il Tavolo Verde, (which in italian stands for the gaming table). The perfect place to go to by yourself for a relaxing lunch or tea time with a book. I sometimes feel that in Madrid, there are not enough places to go to on your own when you find yourself in a quiet mood.

Casa Decor 2013 - A Yearly Appointment (we cannot miss)
Another year Casa Decor opens its doors in Madrid!! This time more challenging than ever. Designers need to transform a very 60's circular shaped office building, former british embassy, into residential spaces. Conceived as a diplomatic complex, the building is self-contained with its own system of security, electrical and water systems. And a very difficult layout. A real challenge and an extraordinary outcome! worth the visit!

Decoraccion 2012 - nice walk through las Letras
Last weekend, I enjoyed myself very much walking around Barrio de las Letras and admiring the lovely decoration brought up by the initiative DecorAccion.
Walking
through Barrio de las letras is always special, architecture and shops
have plenty of history and good taste. And yet imagine if a bunch of many well
known decorators and antiquaires work on the outside look of the shops,
creating lovely installations and organising brocantes in the streets and even letting you visit their private studios..! You almost get the Stendhal disease… J

Cuca and Pep - a new space for antiques and decoration
Exquisite and charming place discovered very recently thanks to My Little Sant Cugat.
Cuca and Pep Boixader, with their adorable children have just arrived to Madrid, bringing fresh and innovative ideas for interior decoration. Their home at calle Magdalena 17 is also their showroom. In an incredible ancient old Madrid building you will find bright huge spaces with fascinating antique furniture resulting in a striking modern atmosphere. All furniture shown is on sale being, at the same time, part of a live ambiance.

Yarn Bombing - knitting Madrid
YARN BOMBING!! Sounds very aggressive but in fact it is a very quiet and decorative activity... as you know from past posts, My little Madrid started some knitting lessons recently... and enquiring a bit about this new passion, I discovered that around the world , many passionate about Knitting gather in open spaces to redecorate their cities. This phenomenon is called Yarn Bombing.
Last meeting in Madrid was on Saturday June 9th at Plaza Dos de Mayo. There I went armed with my knitting tools. At the beginning I couldn’t spot the group but then I found a knitted tree! That was the sign!!

Vintage Jewelry and Others - Castillo Encantado at el Rastro
Second due appointment at the Rastro: Vintage shop Castillo Encantado. Best choice for fine vintage jewelry, but it also has handbags, hats and even some small furniture and lamps. Pieces are very exclusive and special so prices are not a bargain.
