I am from Madrid, love the city and want to share my special addresses. Every day a new idea, place or thing to do in Madrid. Everything has been thoroughly tested but it is only a personal opinion.

A Lovely Discovery: Nimú Bistró and Terrace

If you’re wondering where you can take a special girl out on a date… stop thinking! I have a solution, and its called: Nimú Bistró, a small restaurant with a few tables, where each table has flowers and most importantly, wonderful food and wine. Despite being very central, it is still very unknown, as it belongs to the Adler Hotel, and its not very common for Madrid people to have lunch or dinner in hotels.

La Cocina de San Anton, an Exciting Terrace in Chueca

Now that the weather seems to be more pleasant but still not as hot as spring time, I come with a suggestion for those of you who want to start feeling the open air terraces... I am talking about la Cocina de San Antón on the 3rd floor of Mercado de San Antón.

Beker6 a Good option for any Occasion!

A new restaurant in Madrid and a very good one! Beker6. My dear friend Alejandra Ansón took me there. As the best madrilian eat-girl, I knew that every time she takes me to a restaurant, there are high probabilities of loving the place. This time, that was indeed what happened!

Caray! a Gastronomic Surprise!

Our suggestion for this week, is a special one: Caray. First of all, because some of the owners are dear friends, Barbara Perez Manzabeitia and Luis Sartorius. This lovely couple along with a spanish sports champion, Alberto Piñón and the wonderful team of one of the best tapas places of Madrid, La Monteria, have recently opened this restaurant. Such a combination was certain to be a success! The name chosen is a spanish expression to describe surprise.

Gourmet Experience Serrano

“El Corte Inglés”, one of the most traditional Madrid shopping centers, has been innovating in the last years regarding its gourmet section. It has always been modern if compared to other big shopping centers and the work done is fantastic. We need to congratulate them again as they have opened an spectacular Gourmet venue in Serrano 52.

8 Places to go for a Group Christmas Celebration

Agendas are fully booked these days with lunches and dinners. We all want to celebrate Christmas holidays with old friends, new friends, work colleagues...But, the same uncertainty remains.Where should we go? As the booking is usually for a big number, we have been investigating about interesting possibilities for groups and closed menus (25€ up to 40€) in order to get some privacy and avoid those uncomfortable large tables where you just have the chance to interact with the people next to you.
First of all, these are our suggestions for best privés in town:

Fonty our French-Peruvian Choice for Brunch

Close to Retiro Park, there is a very cosy café with great deco that will make you think of another city far away: Fonty. The name is an abbreviation for Fontainebleu, the French village well known for its castle and famous business school – where the owners, Luis and Marie, spent some time studying. The café has an international atmosphere, both in the customer mix and the delicatessen. The chefs are French and Slovenian.

The Table By, a Crisp Restaurant Model

This is a special post, as the instigators of The Table by are very dear to us. One of them is Alejandra Ansón, a known gourmet young professional whom I am very fond. Additionally, there is also the Better group, responsible for the successful: The House, The Apartment, The Patio and El Cuartel, always original and cool.

Forte, Fortino and Fortissimo...Italian Cuisine

I have asked Italians many times about their favorite restaurants in Madrid and have always been surprised by the different answers my question provokes: pizza, pasta, elegant, regional… Now there is new option in the Salamanca district that intends to become the place for Italians to eat at and to show the people of Madrid what real Italian food is: Forte Pizza.

Calle Ponzano, the Coolest Foodie Street

We are big fans of Ponzano Street, it seems that it’s becoming the coolest street for tapas and lunch. anywhere you go, you’ll get a nice surprise. Our favorites, the original Sala de Despiece, the popular Fide yummi pizzas at Picsa, and last but not least La Contraseña. Therefore, do not worry if you head to Ponzano without a reservation; any of those places will be a good choice and you can go back any time to try the rest of them.

Restaurant Marieta - the new place to be seen at!

As the month of September still allows for the enjoyment of terraces, our recommendation for today is for those readers who have to hold business lunches in nice sunny places. Marieta was opened before the summer holidays and became the place to be seen in Madrid, with its perfect location, beautiful people and cool decor.

Tip for September: a picnic at the Retiro by Magasand

So, we are back in town and it’s official, the holidays are over. We all look very suntanned but inside a terrible post-holiday depression has overcome us… no more outdoor activities either in the sea or the mountains, the majority of us are now confined to be in front of a computer.
Summer holidays are over and we have the pavement as landscape, however, we at My Little Madrid have a recommendation that will, for sure, make you feel as though coming back to the city wasn’t so terrible... as you will have the feeling again of being free among nature!!
You just have to follow our instructions:

El Huerto de Lucas, a new ecogastrocultural market!

el huerto de lucas interior
I am so happy with this new eco trend going on in Madrid! Last Sunday I went to El Huerto de Lucas, in San Lucas 13, a covered market with a nice restaurant in the middle that is worth a visit, especially as walking down the Street you don’t seem to realize that there is a huge space of 450 square meters inside that can be considered as an eco-paradise! Actually their motto is ‘the first medicine is food’!

New Hotspot for Carnivores - Café de Paris

New opening for carnivores in Salamanca district with a very chic name and elegant decor: Café de Paris - l'Entrecôte. The original restaurant comes from Switzerland where they invented the sauce that they have been serving since 1930s and their big asset is the french style premium cut of beef, called entrecote, with French fries and salad.
