This week I have been honoured to visit the new Coque restaurant, that has recently been moved from Humanes, an industrial small village from Madrid to Archy, a mythical disco where Madrid peple for many generations have enjoyed crazy party nights.

Poke Bowl Invasion
![]() |
This is Poke! |
There is an indisputable trend going on in Madrid for the last months, I am talking about Poke. I first heard about it a year ago, I was told that hawaiian surfers were very fond about it and I was surprised by its simplicity and freshness. Poke is all about raw fish cut in dices with vegetables and usually a basis of rice served in a bowl with a great variety of other possible ingredients like vegetables and sauces.

Rubaiyat, the Terrace you Must Try this Summer in Madrid!
We like
very much Rubaiyat and its impressive terraces that are open from April until October.
It is a green spot in Chamartin, plenty of vegetation and with a very ingenious spraying
system that cools up the ambiance. A good choice for hot summer nights.

Five Must Does in Madrid this Christmas
Decorate your home - Build your own Madrilenian nativity scene.
First go to plaza Mayor to buy figurines. The essential figurines are: Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, cow and donkey, angel, some shepherds and the three wise men.A tip: do not buy the caganet it is not a local figurine.
Another tip: While in plaza Mayor take advantage to have a Christmas chocolate con churros at Chocolatería San Gines.
Then go to your nearby park and pick some moss, stones, twigs, etc.
Find a good spot in your house far from pets. Do not forget to build up a river with kitchen foil and to add some lighting that will make the joy of the little ones.
Visit a museum but make sure you buy your tickets online beforehand.

Treat your look. Since you are not going to start a diet go for a facial at Skininc, a massage at Assari or a walk at the Retiro Park.
Have crazy amusement. Go for a show with dinner to the newly revamped Florida Retiro, depending on the day you can choose a musical show or jazz music, and after 01:30 a.m. lively disco and dancing.
And a final suggestion outside the list: stay at home, relax and watch a nice TV series with a glass of Spanish wine avoiding the masses.
Best wishes to all of you from My Little Madrid!!

La Pagoda - Original Asian Restaurant
This asian restaurant named as the typical Asian worship temple: La Pagoda, has been one of my latest discoveries in the Bernabeu area. It was love at first sight, big windows to a small but bright tropical interior where a nice green wallpaper and wood welcome the visitor. Its concept is eatery and bar and during the summer, they also have a nice terrace.

Hermosos y Malditos - Mediterranean Bistró
Our suggestion for this week is the perfect combination of homemade food with a twist and cocktails with a good crowd: Hermosos y Malditos. Its name refers to John Fitzgerald´s novel ‘The Beautiful and Damned’ and in the decoration you can feel the energy of the Golden twenties.

Tapan - Japanese Tapas Bar in Chamberí
If you fancy authentic Japanese food and do not want to spend big sums I have a good tip for you: Tapan in Chamberi, 46 Bretón de los Herreros. It is a real Japanese Tapas Bar owned and managed by two Japanese young cooks who had the good idea to merge Spanish traditions, such as “menu del día” and “tapas” with Japanese gastronomy.

Find Murcia Region in Madrid: Restaurant El Caldero
Gastronomy in Spain is, as everybody knows, outstanding. We all love, paella and jamón, but there are other excellent gastronomic choices unknown to the general public that are equally exceptional and Madrid offers the possibility to discover them all. Today I will suggest a restaurant from Murcia region: el Caldero. Have you ever tried such suggestive dishes as paparajotes, matasuegras or zarangollo? Do you know what mojama or hueva is? You should!

Principal Hotel and restaurant Atico
Recommending a hotel and restaurant in Madrid is not always easy, as they are many options and a wide range of prices. However I have no doubt that if you want to feel the madrilian vibe in luxury, be well located , best views of town and a great restaurant inside by two Michelin Stars Ramón Freixa named Atico, The Principal is one of the best options.

Ornella, an Italian Restaurant with a Modern Touch
I had been looking at
their construction works for weeks in Velázquez Street, always curious to know what was going on… and finally,
this week, they have opened their doors,
an Italian
restaurant: Ornella! The name
refers to the actress Ornella
Mutti. I discovered that the owners were great admirers of this amazing Italian actress and
this Project is their tribute to
her.

The Table By - Second Season with Regueiro
The Table by has started, the First Season experience was excellent, so I
naturally couldn’t miss out on its second! The first restaurant to open this new season has been Regueiro from Asturias, whose chef and owner is Diego Fernández. With just 30 years and having worked in important northern Spanish restaurants, he opened Regueiro in 2011, winning important recognitions like the National Promising Chef prize, the Best Innovative Spanish restaurant and the world’s best Iberico ham “Croqueta”.

Chuka Ramen Bar - Asian Street Food Indoors
I had tried to go to Chuka several times, but always found obstacles. It was usually closed (they close on sundays & mondays) and were usually fully booked. Until, last Saturday when I finally made it.

Our Recommendation in Arguelles Neighbourhood
A few days ago, we got an email from one of our followers named Eva, inviting us to the restaurant where she works: Punto Básico. We love when our followers e-mail us about new corners, and therefore couldn’t refuse the invitation. We did however mention that we couldn’t guarantee a post about it.
