I am from Madrid, love the city and want to share my special addresses. Every day a new idea, place or thing to do in Madrid. Everything has been thoroughly tested but it is only a personal opinion.

CULTURE MIXED WITH NATURE: TETSUYA ISHIDA AND MATT COLLISHAW

Now that the weather is so good, in this post I'm going to recommend two cultural plans that also combine with nature breaks in the center of Madrid such as the Retiro park and the Botanical Garden. A fantastic 2X1 for free time whether you want to go with family, friends or alone:

Royal Botanical Park- blooming flowers

- Villanueva Pavilion of the Royal Botanical Garden. "Mat Collishaw. Dialogues" which is the first exhibition organised by the Sorigué Foundation in Madrid. Open until May 24th.

From sculpture, photography and films the exhibition shows the artist's interest in nature and the history of art, it is really surprising for its variety of styles and hardness while beauty reflected in his work.
This lamp in movement was super impressive

- Reina Sofia Museum - Palacio de Velázquez in Retiro Park. "Tetsuya Ishida- Self-portrait of another". Open until September 8th.

This Japanese artist who died very young in 2005 shows a Japanese society where humans are mostly automatons and provokes disturbing scenes where alienation is a major theme, although his disturbing works are also overwhelming and thought-provoking.

Tip for September: a picnic at the Retiro by Magasand

So, we are back in town and it’s official, the holidays are over. We all look very suntanned but inside a terrible post-holiday depression has overcome us… no more outdoor activities either in the sea or the mountains, the majority of us are now confined to be in front of a computer.
Summer holidays are over and we have the pavement as landscape, however, we at My Little Madrid have a recommendation that will, for sure, make you feel as though coming back to the city wasn’t so terrible... as you will have the feeling again of being free among nature!!
You just have to follow our instructions:

Il Tavolo Verde, Organic Café and Antique Market

Big glass windows, lovely antic furniture, organic food and a pleasant atmosphere close to the Retiro: I am talking about Il Tavolo Verde, (which in italian stands for the gaming table). The perfect place to go to by yourself for a relaxing lunch or tea time with a book. I sometimes feel that in Madrid, there are not enough places to go to on your own when you find yourself in a quiet mood.

Close to Nature - El Encinar, Madrid North (Guest Posting)

First I’d like to thank My Little Madrid for giving me the opportunity to write about this part of Madrid, a Madrid just outside the busy and noisy inner city. We’re talking about the northern district, a residential neighbourhood thas is becoming a place for families to find peace and quiet.
