This year's Book Day has caught us at home.
However, this is not a reason not to continue celebrating and buying books in those bookstores that we like so much.
From My Little Madrid, we support a beautiful altruistic initiative to help neighborhood bookstores: www.paraseguirleyendo.com
I am from Madrid, love the city and want to share my special addresses. Every day a new idea, place or thing to do in Madrid. Everything has been thoroughly tested but it is only a personal opinion.

Hurry! Tonight is Madrid Book Night!
We love books, we love reading... and tonight is "La Noche de los Libros" in Madrid. There is an extensive program with lots of activities: debates, lectures, open bookshops, authors signing books, performances... at Real Casa de Correos, Real Casa de Postas, Paseo del Prado and many other sites in Madrid.
Enjoy with us!

Tuuu Librería, Enjoy Reading While Helping Others
This bookshop is a little treasure chest for book lovers, and you'll probably won’t see anything like it elsewhere. Book prices aren't fixed, you pay what you want, which makes it a unique place.
However, it does have one rule, you can only take as many books and your hand can hold.

La libreria, a Bookshop for Madrid Lovers (like us)
In the very “castiza” calle Mayor, we discovered a very original book shop, with more than 1,000 references to Madrid!!: La Librería. Of course, we loved it and it was impressive to see books about art, history, curiosities, songs and sayings, terror stories.. all about Madrid! If you are keen on the city, this is for sure, the bookshop you need.

La Central - Much More than a Bookstore
We are big fans of the fantastic bookstore La Central in Callao! We consider it much more than a bookstore for many reasons. Firstly, they have more than 80 000 book references in several languages and many different sections that avoid the typical collection of best sellers you find elsewhere. It is a library within a 19th century palace. If you feel hungry or want to take a rest, you can also try their great “Bistro” with very tasty food options for breakfast, lunch or tea time. You can even stay for drinks at night in their bar, "el Garito" , where many events and book presentations take place.

Second hand books at La Cuesta del Moyano

Since we still are in an almost-holiday-period and the weather is becoming less agressive I propose a nice traditional walk; La Cuesta del Moyano. It has been long time since my last walk through these stalls, I had almost forgotten, but on my way to the Hoper exhibition it has been a nice surprise to discover this Madrid land mark not only unspoiled but improved (now pedestrian) and restored.

Libreria Rumor (bookstore)

In Chamartin district once you trespass its door you get, like Alice, into the other side of the mirror: a happy and magic dimension, quiet but full of emotions contained in small rectangular formats, filled with stories: their books!!

Bookbinders - La Eriza
Bookbinders La Eriza
Calle Colón 15
A curious little shop far away from the frantic
life of the city. Tasteful and relaxing. Go there if you like books and old
life style.
