Weather
allowing, summer in Madrid is an experience! Everyone is in the streets and
great terraces flourish all over the city…
We like
very much Rubaiyat and its impressive terraces that are open from April until October.
It is a green spot in Chamartin, plenty of vegetation and with a very ingenious spraying
system that cools up the ambiance. A good choice for hot summer nights.
The family
that runs it has a Spanish origin but has been living for the last two generations
in Brazil where they run five restaurants. They also have other restaurants in
Mexico, Argentina and Chile. The patriarch, Belarmino Fernandez Iglesias, left his small town in Galicia to find fortune in
Sao Paul. Eventually he became the owner of the famous grill house “A Cabana”.
After his great success in Brazil he decided to invest back in Spain opening
Rubaiyat.
Today, the
third generation is managing with lots of enthusiasm
the restaurant and giving it a modern switch. As an example of modern times try
the surprisingly exquisite cocktails.

Daniel Redondo new Chef |
The good news is that Daniel Redondo form El Celler de Can Roca, has recently joined the team renovated the menu. We suggest a wonderful Tuna Tartar, lobster cannellone and the fish of the day without forgeting the exquisite meat and suffle potatoes which are the house landmark...

Madrid has to be one of the best adventures that I've experienced! Sitting in a small cafe with a great group of people and a delightful meal is a heavenly experience.
