47 Ronin- Japanese Vanguard cuisine in Jorge Juan Street

With so many restaurants opening in Madrid, sometimes you have the feeling that nothing is going to surprise you anymore. However, last week I fell in love at first sight with this new Japanese restaurant that has recently opened in the elegant gastrostreet Jorge Juan showing us the best of the japanese vanguard cuisine: 47 Ronin.

Its name refers to one of the most well known Samurai Japanese legends and will definitely become very common in our Madrilian gastro-vocabulary.
The reasons are as follows:

- Food, you will be surprised with every bite, that's for sure. Do not expect any californian roll, since its menu refers to vanguard high-end gastronomy. They work mainly with first class raw produce and advanced Research and Development investigation. Borja Gracia, expert chef in Japanese cuisine and his wonderful team will make you happy with their delicious creations. The tasting menu is 65€, I would advise you to try it (no drinks included).

- Venue, (former Gallery shop which was one of top brand stores of the city) has been refurbished, with great taste, in a huge minimalist high ceiling space. Its sober and exquisite decoration has as its main protagonist a Maple tree with orange leaves emerging from the cocktail bar. Its color contrasts with the black color, making it the main focus. I really love the effect created by the white tablecloths from the restaurant with the black color of the venue.

- Concept, three options in one place depending how you feel, 47ronin will give you the best choice:
The restaurant in the first floor with just a few tables makes the experience more intimate and exclusive. Its sommelier comes from Gordon Ramsay, London, and he will help you choose from a variety of more that 200 references of small wine producers.

The cocktail bar offers selected japanese finger food and cocktails designed by famous Diego Cabrera, under the maple tree for informal gatherings or the classic drink after dinner.

The reserved area of the restaurant shows a secret place for 12 people where a menu of 24 dishes will be prepared in front of them within three hours like in Yakitori restaurants.
