Cozy Garden Restaurant - Donde Mónica

How would you like to feel in a London garden without having to leave Madrid? It's right around the corner, next to busy and noisy Serrano street, an exquisite (both food and ambiance) British heaven: Restaurant "Donde Mónica".

Right inside a courtyard, they tell me it used to be a florist and a lingerie shop. It is very surprising, the feeling to be transported to another dimension just when you trespass the courtyard door is very intense. All of the sudden you get to a peaceful and cozy tinny little restaurant with excellent food.

They have an intelligent menu with many choices for people wising a light lunch (salads, sandwiches and boards) but also a choice of daily main dishes for heavier appetites. Yesterday I had a tasty vegetable soup and a wonderful lamb with potatoes. The dessert was just delicious, a lovely crispy tarte tatin with ice cream.

Monica is not only a very pretty woman but also an excellent cook and she takes good and personal care of her business. You will find her always there caring about her customers.

Since my first discovery I have been there several times, but always at lunch time. I think it deserves a try for dinner...!
