Gaultier corsets even for pregnant women!

I was reluctant to go to the Jean Paul Gaultier Exhibition at Fundación Mapfre. Don’t know why it didn’t appeal to me. And it was a great mistake!! It is a wonderful exhibition, loads of imagination displayed both by the curator and the artist. Gorgeous set up and magnificent outfits by Gaultier. A real artist!!! It realy deserves the visit (on until  January the 6th).

Gaultier talks to you and explains his art work.

Form the very start the visitor remains astonished by the realistic and interactive mannequins. They watch at you, sing and speak. Even Jean Paul Gaultier, himself, welcomes guest while explaining about his work. Amazing!!!

And then the luxurious, exuberant outfits… From his famous corsets to Madona or Lady Gagá shocking looks… A wink to the punk style, and of course Paris pervading everything.

Gaultier's collaborations with the Spanish film, fashion and dance industries - and with Pedro Almodóvar in particular - are well documented in this exhibition. The Spanish film director has loaned wardrobe items and sketches from The Skin I Live In, Bad Education and Kika.
