Casa Arabe - Art and Delicious Hidden Terrace

I love when I find a very special place that is still secret for many people.. even though this post might make it less of a secret to someone.. !

How do you discover these kind of places? It is always by accident. On my way biking back home through the Retiro I happen to pass by Casa Arabe and many times I have been inside at exhibitions and other cultural activities, but I didn't know about its lovely hidden terrace.

Last day I missed the cinema exhibition, and suddenly on my way out, I saw a panel saying Cafeteria. What a surprise! Only 4 tables in the terrace and delicious typical Arab food and teas for a very affordable price..! Hummus, couscous, pastela, taboulé, name it and they'll have it!

Very intimate and exotic experience in the middle of Madrid…Daily menu for just 10 euros, and if you have time you can always visit one of their exhibitions, I personally recommend the nominees of Jameel prize 2011, an art price award in collaboration of the Victoria and Albert Museum for Islamic modern art.
