And why not… instead of going to the gym go to the Retiro for a nice and sunny sporty experience!
My suggestions for sports at the Retiro will come in different posts. This week I recommend Rollerblading!
Where? The itinerary can start on the side of Alcala with Menendez Pelayo. There is a broad street in the middle of the Park and it is very nice for a bit of practice, it will take no longer than 15 minutes side to side and you can also try harder going up and down from the Fallen Angel (Alfonso XII close to Atocha) You’ll definitely shape up your butt!
The rest of streets in Retiro are not so friendly for rollerblading. Do avoid the little lake, it is almost always too crowded and the pavement is not good.
If you are insecure about rollerblading or want to improve your style, the best is to join a rollerblading school in their one 2 one or group lessons.
My choice is Roller Madrid, but you have many others and can look for the one that suits you better: time schedules, cost, activities suggested…
If you have never tried and are not keen on buying roller-skates, hiring them for a little hour and see how it feels! Close to the Retiro at Menendez Pelayo 35, you'll find By Bike, the rental is 4€ for an hour… best bet!
Very important: protect yourself buying or renting a good helmet and protections for legs and hands!
You will have fun 100% guaranteed!!
Rollerblading is always good sport for men and women. This sport makes your health better and body flexible, and about me, I especially is attracted by women on roller blades
